The Delhi High Court on Friday closed the suit filed by Hamdard National Foundation India against Yoga Guru Ramdev over his “Sharbat Jihad” remark against former's Rooh Afza product.

Justice Amit Bansal decreed the suit after Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar informed Court that affidavits have been filed by Ramdev and Patanjali Foods Limited that the impugned videos and posts have been taken down.

Earlier this month, Ramdev, while promoting Patanjali's rose sharbat, claimed that the money earned from Hamdard's rooh afza is used to build madrasas and mosques. Later, Ramdev defended his remark and said that he did not name any brand or community.

Hamdard filed the suit against Ramdev seeking removal of the Yoga Guru's videos on the remark from social media.

During the hearing today, Nayar informed Court that the affidavits, in compliance of judicial orders, have been tendered by Ramdev and Patanjali.

The Court thus made Ramdev and Patanjali bound by the averments made in their affidavits and decreed the suit in terms of prayers a,b,c and e of the plaint.

Senior Advocate Sandeep Sethi appearing for Hamdard did not press for any other relief in the suit.

“The suit is accordingly decreed,” the Court said.

Recently, the Court rapped Ramdev saying that he lives in his own world and is not in anyone's control.

This was Ramdev, despite making an undertaking that he will not make objectionable remarks against Roohafza, again posted a video against the product in question.

Earlier, Ramdev had informed Court that all the advertisements, whether print or videos, against Hamdard National Foundation India's Rooh Afza product will be taken down.

Previously, Justice Bansal rapped Ramdev over his remarks against Rooh Afza, saying that it shocked its conscience and was indefensible.
