Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur Is Organizing Nyayanama 2025 – Academic Simulation By CCL With Total Cash Prizes Worth Rs. 80,000.
NYAYANAMA is Organised by Centre for Constitutional Law, Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur.
A constitution is not just forged from quill and page; rather, it is constructed from voices, visions, arguments, debates, and dissents. Nyayamana, a flagship event hosted by the Centre for Constitutional Law at Dharmshastra National Law University, aims to bring this spirit of constitution framing to life. Nyayanama presents an arena where brilliant minds can meet, imagine, clash, or negotiate all to give birth to the foundational text that is constitutional. Nyayanama is an event that brings life to the spirit of nation building, beyond being a competition, it's an immersive journey into the constitution genesis. Nyayanama is unlike other competitions like moot courts, where arguments are centred around a single case, and debates, where words clash. Nyayanama simulates the energy of a Constituent Assembly. It is a one-of-a-kind venture wherein the oratory practices of mock parliament are combined with the statesmanship of the model UN.
Participants get to step inside the shoes of nation-builders, navigating party politics, ideological differences, and the delicate art of compromise to draft a working constitution. The competition unfolds in two stages. The first stage is a preliminary round that takes place in online mode, wherein participants receive a scenario based on contemporary sociopolitical issues and are asked to submit a 2-minute video voicing their stance. The last date to register for the preliminary round is 24 th October 2025. Participants would be judged on their oratory skills, clarity, persuasive power, and ability to think critically about complex problems. 40 Participants are shortlisted from this round to advance to the main event.
The Main event takes place on the campus from 22 nd to 23 rd November, where the shortlisted delegates, through a draw of lots, are divided into teams of fictional political parties. These parties are purposely unequal in number to mirror real-life politics. Parties are to be armed with a dossier of each country and a portfolio of parties' ideology, and shall not begin the difficult but thrilling task of constitution drafting. Over four intense rounds, each accompanied by a motion, participants deliver speeches, propose amendments, debate with opponents, and negotiate with allies. Every proposal that passes adds not only to the party's strength but to the delegate's credibility, rewarding those who can balance conviction with compromise. Aside from its process, Nyayamana's soul is in what it teaches. It is a practice in democratic deliberation, demonstrating that disagreement activates dialogue instead of silencing it.
Participants are taught to think outside the self, write lasting laws, and practice the arts of persuasion, negotiation, and visioning that characterize leadership. To celebrate excellence, Nyayamana also recognizes outstanding performances through individual awards.
Participants who demonstrate exceptional oration, constitutional reasoning, strategic engagement, and collaboration are honored across multiple categories:
- Nyaya Ratna (Best Delegate – 1st Prize): Certificate of Merit, a cash prize of 40,000/-, and free access to any three courses conducted by The Legal Voice.
- Samvidhan Shiromani (Distinguished Delegate – 2nd Prize): Certificate of Merit, a cash prize of 25,000/-, and free access to any two courses conducted by The Legal Voice.
- Rajya Vidhyarthi (3rd Prize): Certificate of Merit, a cash prize of 15,000/-, and free access to any one course conducted by The Legal Voice.
- Honourable Mentions: Two participants will receive a Certificate of Special Mention for distinguished performances.
Far from a contest, Nyayamana is a fiesta where the Constitution is brought alive, shifting from book to experience. It challenges students to reimagine constitutional tomorrows, paying respect to the legacy of the Constituent Assembly and embodying the spirit of constitutionalism.
