The International Mediation Conference By Asian Center for International Arbitration & Mediation, Title Partner NLIU Bhopal
The International Mediation Conference, hosted by the Asian Center for International Arbitration and Mediation, is being organized with the support of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association (London), NIVAARAN (Delhi), and IAMC (Hyderabad). The National Law Institute University, Bhopal, is the Title Partner for the event. Centered around the theme “Bridging Access to Justice through Techniques, Technology & Institutions,” the conference aims to facilitate discussions on advancing mediation as a tool for accessible and effective dispute resolution.
The International Conference on Mediation represents a milestone in ACIAM's ongoing efforts to explore innovative approaches to dispute resolution. This one-day conference brings together jurists, legal practitioners, industry experts, and scholars to examine the evolving landscape of Mediation across various sectors.
The conference aims to facilitate a meaningful exchange of ideas, experiences, and insights on the implementation of mediation processes in different legal and commercial contexts. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with research, practical case studies, and trends shaping this collaborative dispute resolution mechanism.
Sitting Judges from the Supreme Court of India, the Andhra Pradesh High Court, alongside industry leaders, international experts, and practitioners, will be joining the conference and will share their perspectives on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of dispute resolution through mediation.
Conference Sessions
The International Conference will consist of 4 technical sessions.
1. Mediation Service Providers and Courts:
This session will explore how courts and mediation service providers can work collaboratively to integrate mediation into the justice delivery system. It will examine models of court-referred mediation, regulatory frameworks, and best practices to promote wider adoption and ensure quality standards.
2. Sector specific Mediation and hyper specialization – Opportunities and Challenges:
Focusing on mediation in specialized sectors such as Family disputes, Construction, Intellectual Property, and financial services, this session will discuss the benefits and challenges of developing hyper-specialized mediation panels. It will highlight how industry expertise can enhance outcomes and address sector specific complexities.
3. Role of AI in Mediation – Opportunities and Challenges:
This discussion will look at how artificial intelligence tools are transforming mediation—from online dispute resolution platforms to AI-assisted case management and data analytics. Speakers will address both the opportunities for efficiency and the ethical, legal, and practical challenges that come with integrating technology.
4. Role of Institutional Mediation in resolving MSME disputes:
This session will examine the critical role institutional mediation plays in helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) resolve disputes efficiently. It will cover frameworks, success stories, and strategies for increasing MSME access to structured mediation services that protect business continuity.
