National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, hosted the AmiQuiz Curiae – Student Edition on 22nd April 2025, a landmark inter-collegiate quiz competition celebrating 75 years of the Indian Constitution. The event spotlighted themes of law, politics, history, and culture, drawing enthusiastic participation from institutions across Assam.
The quiz was generously supported by an esteemed panel of senior advocates: Arvind Datar, Rana Mukherjee, Rebecca John, Chandra Uday Singh, Dama Seshadri Naidu, Sanjay Hegde, Siddharth Luthra, Raju Ramachandran, Meenakshi Arora, Nakul Dhawan, Jaideep Gupta, Huzefa Ahmadi, Madhavi Divan, and Dr. S. Muralidhar.
The event was conducted in collaboration with QShala as the Quiz Partner, and LiveLaw served as the Media Partner. The quiz was presented by the dynamic Quizmaster Raghav Chakravarthy, co-founder of QShala.
The competition witnessed an impressive turnout, with students from 30 institutions across Assam participating in a spirited display of constitutional awareness and general knowledge. The event was honoured by the presence of Dr. S. Muralidhar, Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court and former Chief Justice of the Odisha High Court, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The quiz began with a 20-question preliminary round, from which the top six teams advanced to a high-stakes final featuring five themed rounds. The questions spanned a wide spectrum—from the origin of the term 'lobbyist' at the Willard Hotel to historical episodes like the Worli Rebellion, along with insights into contemporary legal issues and the rich legal and cultural heritage of Northeast India.
Final Standings:
- 🥇 Winner: Aswani Kumar Sharma, IIT Kharagpur
- 🥈 Runners-up: Minhajuddin Ansari, Manash Pratim Barman, and Dhritiman Sawarni, Tezpur University
- 🥉 Third Place: Dipom Saha, Abhijnan D. Barhoi, and Rajdeep Mahanta, Cotton University
- Fourth Place: Aroni Swami, Kunal Kalita, and Ian Pereira, NLU Assam
- Fifth Place: Sayan Mazumdar and Dishanta Patowary, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital
- Sixth Place: Upasana Saikia, Moitrayee Devi, and Rupsikha Dey Purkayastha, Cotton University
In his valedictory address, Dr. S. Muralidhar lauded the participants for their enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity, emphasizing the importance of constitutional literacy among the youth. He urged students to view quizzing not merely as a competition, but as a vital learning tool—a way to test oneself, ignite curiosity, and train the mind to solve, connect, and reflect.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, celebrating the stellar performances of all the finalists.
