A sessions court in Kolkata has extended the police custody of three persons including law students Jaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukhopadhyay; and ex-student, practising lawyer and contractual staff at the South Kolkata Law college Manojit Mishra till July 7th over the alleged rape of a student within the college premises.

According to the complaint, the victim had come to the college to complete some formalities when she was approached by the accused who took her to a guard room within the campus and raped her between 7pm and 11pm at night on Wednesday, June 25th.

Based on the victim's complaint, the police arrested the three accused and produced them before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM), Alipore, who remanded them to four days in police custody.
