The Centre for International Law and Allied Disciplines (CILAD) at Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) has launched “CILAD Monthly”, a student-led newsletter dedicated to contemporary developments in International Law and allied disciplines. The publication aims to serve as a platform for interdisciplinary engagement, fostering analytical discourse and creative exploration in global legal studies.

About: 'CILAD Monthly'
CILAD Monthly is a student-led newsletter published by the Centre for International Law and Allied Disciplines (CILAD) at DSNLU. Envisioned as a recurring monthly publication, it serves as an accessible and interdisciplinary forum for critical reflection on contemporary developments in international law and related fields. Each issue showcases analytical articles, opinion pieces, case notes, and creative contributions that explore the intersections of law with society, politics, and culture. The newsletter aspires to nurture fresh perspectives, intellectual curiosity, and collaboration among students and scholars across the globe.
CILAD Monthly is:
1. Open – anyone from law or social sciences may contribute.
2. Interdisciplinary – embracing perspectives beyond legal doctrine.
3. Forward-Looking – Challenging conventional narratives through fresh voices.
Eligibility:
- Undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral students from law and social sciences disciplines.
- The call is open internationally and not limited to any single university.
- Both individual and co-authored contributions are welcome (up to 2 authors).
Types of Contributions
1. Feature Articles (1000–1500 words) – analytical essays on international law/policy.
2. Opinion Pieces (600–900 words) – arguments or reflections on current issues.
3. Case Notes & Legislation Notes (500–800 words) – key judgments, treaties, or bills.
4. Interdisciplinary Essays (under 1500 words) – linking law to politics, sociology, economics, literature, etc.
5. Book/Film Reviews (400–700 words) – relevant to law, rights, or social sciences.
6. Creative Corner – poems, short fiction, or reflective writings on justice and society.
Submission Guidelines
1. Clarity first: Avoid jargon; explain terms simply.
2. Tone: Analytical, accessible, and respectful.
3. Referencing: Use OSCOLA/Bluebook/APA (choose one style and stay consistent).
4. Formatting:
· Font: Times New Roman, size 12.
· Spacing: 1.5.
5. Submit via Google Form/Email by the 15th of every month.
6. Only original, unpublished work is accepted. Plagiarism above 10% is not permitted.
7. Authors retain copyright, but grant CILAD Monthly permission to publish. By submitting, authors confirm that their work does not infringe third-party rights. Authors shall be solely responsible for any legal issues arising from their contributions.
8. Each contributor should attach a 50-word author bio and contact email.
9. Author Name(s), Institution, and Word Count should be mentioned in the email/form and not on the manuscript. Violation of this, may lead us to reject the submission.
Code of Conduct
Respectful writing only: no hate speech, personal attacks, or discriminatory remarks.
Political critique is allowed, but partisan campaigning is not.
Cross-disciplinary openness is encouraged – acknowledge diverse viewpoints.
Deadline
Submissions for the first edition should be submitted by 15th November 2025 by 11:59 PM.
