Dharmashastra National Law University Jabalpur Organised 2nd Convocation Ceremony

The Second Convocation Ceremony of the Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur was held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at PDPM IIITDM Campus, Jabalpur. The convocation was presided over by the Chief Justice of M.P. High Court and Chancellor of the University, Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva who conferred degrees to the graduates, and delivered the Presidential Address during the event. He emphasised on the AI's role urging ethical stewardship and human-centered advocacy which was also highlight of the address.

The Chief Guest of the event was Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, Judge, Supreme Court of India and The Visitor of the University. He delivered the Convocation Address. In his address Justice Maheshwari highlighted the duty of law graduates to uphold constitutional values and ensure justice reaches the last mile. He emphasized character, service, and sensitivity to social realities. Together, the addresses urged graduates to pursue justice with empathy, integrity, and adaptability in an evolving legal and technological landscape.

Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, Judge, Supreme Court of India was the Guest of Honour and delivered the keynote address. While delivering the address he invoked dharma and Nyaya philosophy to guide legal reasoning.

Justice Rajendra Menon, Chairperson, Armed Forces Tribunal also addressed the gathering as Special Guest to the occasion. Justice Menon emphasised stressed mediation and ethical lawyering.

Earlier in the event, Prof (Dr) Manoj Kumar Sinha, the Vice Chancellor of DNLU welcomed the dignitaries, guests and students while presenting the university report. Prof. Sinha, highlighted the achievements of the university. Dr. Praveen Tripathi, Registrar administered degree and gold medal distribution.

A total of around 102 students completed their undergraduate degrees, while 46 students graduated at the postgraduate level.

Twelve gold medals were awarded across undergraduate, postgraduate, and sponsored categories in recognition of exceptional academic performance. These included the Justice Dr. R.C. Lahoti Gold Medal (Former Chief Justice of India) for the batch topper, the Meena Ram Gold Medal for the topper in International Law, and the Senior Advocate Shri R.P. Agrawal Memorial Gold Medal for the best performer in Constitutional Law.

Students who demonstrated outstanding performance in specific disciplines included Mr. Piyush More for Criminal Law, Mr. Abheet Sharma and Ms. Anannya Shree Adhikari for Business Law, and Ms. Sukanya Nema for Constitutional Law, Ms. Vaibavi S. G. was awarded the Meena Ram Gold Medal for excellence in International Law.

Mr. Parthik Saxena from the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program distinguished himself by receiving four medals: the General Honours Medal, the Batch Topper Medal, the Justice Dr. R.C. Lahoti Gold Medal, and the Senior Advocate Shri R.P. Agrawal Memorial Gold Medal for Constitutional Law. Similarly, Ms. Medha Joshi from the LL.M. program earned three medals, including those for Criminal Law, the Batch Topper Medal, and the Justice Dr. R.C. Lahoti Gold Medal for batch topper.
