Three students from the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, have brought laurels to the university through their performance at the 22nd Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot, held between 30 March – 6 April 2025 in Hong Kong SAR, China.

The team comprising Intisar Aslam, Zainab ul Kubra, and Ata Ur Rahman represented NUSRL on the international stage and were awarded the Honourable Mention for the Fali Nariman Award for Best Memorandum for Respondent. In addition, Zainab ul Kubra received an Honourable Mention for the Neil Kaplan Award for Best Oral Advocate.

The journey began with a strong start at the CTIL-DSNLU-MCIA Vis Pre-Moot, where the team emerged as Winners, and Zainab ul Kubra was conferred the Fali Nariman Award for Best Oralist.

Building on this momentum, the team travelled to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, to participate in the APAC-BICAM Vis Pre-Moot, where they were among the Top 32 teams internationally for Best Oral Team.

Their efforts culminated in a landmark performance at the Vis East Moot, featuring over 159 law schools from across the globe. This is the first time NUSRL has received these distinctions at the Vis East, placing the university among the top-performing institutions in the field of international arbitration.
