NLU Prayagraj's Vice Chancellor Prof. Usha Tandon Honoured with APJ Abdul Kalam Jurist Excellence Award

Sr. Prof. (Dr.) Usha Tandon, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, Prayagraj, has been honoured with the prestigious APJ Abdul Kalam Jurist Excellence Award. This accolade recognizes her exemplary contributions to legal academia, her pioneering research in environmental law and gender justice, and her unwavering commitment to advancing legal education in India.

The APJ Abdul Kalam Jurist Excellence Award, jointly instituted by the Kerala Law Academy (KLA) and the Global Research Conference Forum (GRCF), is an esteemed recognition awarded to jurists, legal scholars, and academicians who have significantly shaped the legal landscape through their scholarly endeavours and thought leadership. Conferred as part of the KLA-GRCF International Conference Series, this award aims to foster global legal discourse, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of law.

The felicitation ceremony was held on March 1, 2025, at Trivandrum, Kerala, in an event organised by KLA-GRCF. The citation of the award certificate recognised (her) “outstanding contribution in legal scholarship, exemplary commitment to the legal profession, and an understanding dedicated to upholding the principles of Justice and academic excellence”. Her profound engagement with environmental jurisprudence, gender justice, and policy-oriented research has not only enriched legal scholarship but has also provided a robust intellectual framework for legislative and judicial advancements in these critical domains.
